My sculpture often articulates the idea of connection - between species, forms, or characters, or with life itself, whether through emotion or even a kind of striving - the will to survive and transcend.

I like to express my love of nature, animals and the environment through sculpture.

Sculpture can capture a moment or a mood. Some of my sculptures have an uplifting or contemplative feel, others are fun or whimsical. Even those that express a striving or struggle have an element of hope.

My work can sometimes be read on both a literal and an existential or symbolic level.

I work in all different media and love to experiment. However, I especially love the immediacy of working with clay (which is sometimes cast into bronze, plaster, winterstone or glass). I love the fluid relationship you can have with clay. It responds instantly to your thoughts and ideas. but you have to respect its boundaries and even its memory.

I work as a lawyer to support my sculpture and life, as well as my two children and funny old dog.
